Florida

I had never been on a plane. I had never been to Florida. This was my first ‘Spring Break’ in college… why not?

After planning for a few months, saving some money and convincing my boyfriend to take a trip with me, I found myself boarding a plane at 5AM the first night of Spring Break. The feeling of not knowing how the week could go was daunting but the thought of how many new things I was going to experience made it 2x more exciting.

We took a leap and decided to use Airbnb; a site where you can meet a ton of new people by traveling and staying in homes, resorts, bed and breakfasts and more. Yes, at first we were hesitant to stay with someone we didn’t know, but after figuring out how secure this site is, we went for it! Using Airbnb and staying at the ‘Tampa River House’ was by far one of the best travel decisions we made. Not only did we have access to a beautiful pool and hot tub, breakfast was served to us every morning, rooms were cleaned daily, we had 24 hour access to a Keurig machine and refrigeration, each TV had its own sound head set to keep down the noise level, most rooms had a balcony that over looked the pool area and each guest was given a key to their bedroom and home entrance. If you’re into trying new things, you can even sit outside and eat with the Koi fish and pet parrots!

The coolest part about staying here was how we were able to meet guests from all over the world. Ironically we even met someone that lived a few hours away from us in MA!

We loved our stay so much at ‘The Tampa River House’ that we even made a video for our host family! Check it out [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkJA3f9PK3o]

Each and everyday we tried to fit in some kind of big activity. From Busch Gardens, the aquarium, the zoo, the beach, an air-boat alligator tour and more… we found ourselves hustling around the city and discovering our passion for travel.
